Info is the good equalizer. Access to and use of the internet has become an integral component of daily life in the 21st century. Digital info has reshaped how individuals participate in nearly every dimension of society. It is imperative for communities to leverage broadband network access to eliminate the homework gap and for the benefit of education, socioeconomic equality, telemedicine, Smart Agriculture, public security and economic development to maintain and grow quality of life for their citizens. The first annual Michigan Broadband Summit, as part of our educational series, aims to: - Provide an overview of the Moonshot Broadband Framework and Toolkit to assist communities jump-start their regional networks - Share and discuss results from the Citizen Scientist Data Collection project - Explain the financial models, funding sources and feasibility cases for community networks - Discover wired and wireless solutions for connectivity - Overview of current and future broadband policy - Make the next steps and action stuff for communities and anchor institutions
