About the application:

DuHanZi is an application that provides reading articles in both simplified and traditional Chinese, written by native speakers. The articles are divided on six levels of difficulty: beginner, elementary, intermediate, upper-intermediate, advanced and proficient, so you can select the reading material according to your Chinese level. In each article, below the Chinese heroes, pinyin and translation can be displayed at your will. You can also listen* to the text read-out-loud by the text-to-speech service. The audio can be paused, stopped and skipped to the part of text you wish to listen. Words if touched, a pop up containing their translation will be appear, having the chance to listen to its pronunciation, saving the word for later reference or share it. In case you wish to read in the dark without straining your eyes, a dark mode is accessible. This can be activated from Settings. The application contains also a Favorite stories section and a Words section. The Words section includes a word of the day, saved and touched words. Reading articles will be added frequently so that you always have fresh materials to try your knowledge on. The fresh added articles will be gratis until others are added. If you wish to have access to all the articles (FREE + PREMIUM) you need to have an active subscription plan.
