Dane County is often named one of the best territories to live in the U.S., but did you know that unbelievable disparities exist across the community? 64,000 men, women and kids live in poverty and a lot of more are living pay check to pay check. United Way’s goal is to create Dane County a good put to live, for all. By playing “Dane Changers” you will see first hand some of the problems facing the residents of Dane County and you will be moved to action – answering key questions, making choices, spending “resources” and ultimately creating community-wide wellness. Dane Changers is co-presented by TASC and 11 of your local Community Banks: Bank of Sun Prairie, Capitol Bank, DMB Community Bank, First Business Bank, Home Savings Bank, McFarland State Bank, Monona Bank, Oak Bank, Oregon Community Bank, Park Bank and State Bank of Cross Plains. Extra sponsorship is provided by Alliant Energy, Madison College, and MG&E. United Method of Dane County also partnered with local mini game developer, Acme Nerd Mini games. As you enter the virtual globe of Dane County by selecting a city, town or suburb, you will message recognizable buildings, engage with various residents, and take action based on short term to long term impact. You will also keep resources by answering key questions about United Method! You can play in either of two modes. In "Relaxed Play," you have 10 interactions with community members. How much impact can you create in those interactions? In "Timed Challenge," interactions are infinite, but it's a race versus the clock. How much impact can you create in 3 mins?
